This position supports VX-20 developmental test and evaluation at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD. The selected applicant will assist in the process of NAWCAD flight test planning and execution. The selected applicant is expected to be able to help with the development of test plans, pre-flight planning, weapon system operator duties during test missions and drafting post-flight reports. Some travel required.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of work experience is required. An engineering/technical degree is desired. A graduate of one of the following is also a plus: U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, Empire Test Pilot School or EPNER Test Pilot School.
Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A minimum of 1000 hours in Navy aircraft and 500 hours in E-2C/D is required. Past (required) or current (desired) designation as an E-2 Combat Information Center Officer (CICO), Mission Commander (MC) and Air Intercept Controller (AIC) is required. Candidate must be capable of completing the US Navy aviation physiology and water survival qualifications and maintain a FAA Class II annual flight physical. E-2D experience and one year RDT&E flight experience is desired.
